Definition of Grid (in Computing) from Grid Computing at Wikipedia

Rewriting the dictionary definition in terms of Computing.

Grid Computing:

An interconnected system for the distribution of computing resources over a wide area, especially a network of distributed computers and high speed networks.

Poly is derived from the root word polein "to sell".

So Gridopoly is "To sell Grids".

True mono-polies, the "exclusive right to sell" only exist under Government mandate or law.
The internet is the platform. The cell phone/mobile phone is the platform.

The aim is to make ubiquitous computing a reality. On Demand or Utility Computing on any device.
